hi guys.

im using lkb very well under macmini core2duo nvidia, mac osx 10.8.

im trying to use kinect and lkb with my lcd monitor, but im having lots of noise in a particular area of my screen.

i have tried to quit any other IR interferences (monitor bright, lamps and windows) but im still having this noise (grey noise in the monitor of the attached image).

any tip?

thank you a lot.

Hi, the gray noise is the pixels where the kinect can gather information (the reflects well the ir light in that angles). Those are the good points that the plane method uses to fit a plane to the lcd screen. Another option is to use a sheet of paper stuck to the lcd while calibrating the plane method and then remove it (and possibly enlarge the masking zone).

Good luck!

thx nicolas by ur answer.

but the trouble is, kinect cannot detect diference between fingers and the monitor, so is impossible to recognize touches over that area.

maybe im doing something wrong....

no its ok, just increase the min distance to a value where those points are not shown as blobs (or maybe only as very small points). You can also mask them by refining the mask (but on large areas that will remove sensing in that zone)
