2. LKA Matters and News

We had such an interesting meeting on 24 April.
For the first time since the present ex-co took over , we had the 'Induction of Members" ceremony.  Six "new members" shuun par (- "promised or pledged" in Hokkien dialect) to be faithful members of the TM Movement - to attend meetings, to be evaluators , etc .
Dennis Kwan, our VPM, conducted the ceremony.

( Mary's viewpoint - TM International should include this clause " to occasionally provide food at club meetings " as well, I think . ha ha ! )

Allen Xing , who joined us only a month ago, gave an excellent and most interesting  account of his "long march " from the Northern  part of China to Singapore .

Ban  -the  ever creative member, with  his baritone voice,  recited from memory, parts of the "My Fair Lady" play. He also bought  us lots of tasty food .

All of us had a heyday giving loads of feedback to Kevin Cottam 's : A Cup of Milk ".

to help him craft his speech better .

 

Well-  we have just got the results - his and our efforts have achieved fantastic  results !

 

Kevin was first in today's Area B Contest this afternoon ! Indeed , as Prof Higgins said  to Eliza Dolittle, "we did it !"

 

So , let us all congratulate Kevin - he has won the Area B Contest and shall represent Area B at the Division Contest  on May 27 , at the Annual Convention !

Pat Oei also gave us a special award today! We have achieved the President's Distinguished Club - with 10 points .

 

Again, we did it!

 

Thank you , members and ex-co.  
I am so proud of you !

Lets also congratulate our member Harry Yeo who also won the Table Topics contest and for winning 1st runner up for Intl Speech Contest.
