Agree with Sara. Now is the time to explain to the Planning Commission why the rope is a good thing and why the commission can make the necessary findings. No more war.

You can build a case that the anti-seal foes are deliberately trying to force the seals off the beach but if you spend too much time on that you again turn this into a pissing match and in my opinion you won't come out the winner. They have been successful in baiting you and you have responded, in some cases inappropriately. You have photos of them on the beach and their impact on the seals but they have photos and videos of you trying to prevent people from using the beach,using a bull horn to tell people to get off the beach, spitting in someones face, etc. You don't want the hearing to turn into a discussion about who's doing what at the beach and who is wrong. You can mention in talking that there is no other reason to object to the rope then to want the current war to continue and the seals to be flushed. Some people should have some slides and videos in the center of the presentations showing what theya re tyring to do and that they set up their "stands" on the bech , not up top, but I suggest you focus in the first presentations and the last ones, on trying to prove that the rope works. That with the rope there will be a clear line that all will have to obey and that you believe it will help to protect the seals according to the law while sill allowing people to access the beach and water.
