The first time I watched the show I could have sworn they had the Korean song playing in the English dub, but rewatching it now the song is completely excluded and it just says red light green light randomly without knowing how much time is left before they have to stop.

I used to watch takeshi's castle they used to have the same green light/red light game they had a song too do anyone know what they said what I remember they said? something like "daruma San daruma tura" I could be wrong.

The phrase itself sounds slightly more poetic and playful than the strictly literal "Red Light, Green Light" version of the game that Westerners are used to. Other than that, the game is played exactly the same.

South Korea is far from the only country with its own unique phrase for this game. As the Western translation indicates, we know it as "Red Light, Green Light." Though the more traditional phrase (at least the one that I grew up with) is "red light, green light, 1, 2, 3," the English dub for Squid Game only has "red light" for stopping the players and "green light" for letting them advance.

The goal of this game was for players to successfully reach the other end of an enclosed field, where Young-hee, a large robotic doll, was positioned, within the five-minute time limit. Players were permitted to move when the doll called "green light", but if the doll shouted "red light", players were to remain stationary while the doll scanned their movements. Any player caught moving was eliminated and shot dead.

Within five minutes, players must cross the red finish line without getting caught making even the slightest movements by Young-hee. The player can move if she says "Green Light" and stop when she says "Red Light". If a player moves when Young-hee turns around or does not cross the finish line within the given time limit, they will automatically get shot and eliminated from the game.

A wave of memes based on the Netflix original South Korean drama "Squid Game," and the twisted children's games it features, are going viral on TikTok, with users reenacting dramatizations of games like "red light, green light."

The "red light, green light" game from the first episode of the show is the driving force behind many of the memes on TikTok. "Red light, green light" is a children's game in which one person commands those behind them to run (green light) and hold still (red light), and eliminates those who move during a red light phase.
