For the second half of the fix, I wrote a couple of Javascript functions to parse the JSON data in the collated file and extract only the row data for each table that had sync data. I ran these functions in the Chrome browser console (because you can execute JS from there) and then copied the console log data into json2table.com to get it in tabular format. Then I pasted them into a spreadsheet to then clean for entry into the DB.

@Grant_Stead, @MultiTech_Visions - I finished a prototype node.js app that collates recovery files and scans the structures, builds a temporary table schema in a DB and generates insert statements for each row in each table and send them those temp tables.

I have confirmed I can recover files using Puran File Recovery and phtorreq (from testreq) was able to recover the files, but it has not retained any of the file structure and all the pictures are now mixed in 1 drive with # names
I don't need to recover the actual partition, but is there any software that can recover the folders and files with correct name?

Think of your hard drive surface as a library containing books (files) with no titles, and the directory list as a card catalog containing the book's title and a pointer to the proper location on the shelves.

If the card catalog is destroyed in such a situation, there is nothing left but to go through the books one by one, and reading them, determine their titles that should be written back into the index. The recovery software can give you a temporary name and the location on the disk where the file starts, but cannot recover the actual file name. It is not stored with the file data, but in this separate table that was likely destroyed when the new partition was created.

Likewise, if you've destroyed the books themselves in the library (i.e. overwriting the data on the disk with a backup), any images stored where the backup was written will be gone. What the recovery software is finding is whole or partial pieces of the original files, then assigning them temporary names so you can review and rename them.

Do you believe the back software actually wrote data to the disk? If you've repartitioned the disk, and actually written data to it, I fear that both the file names and at least some of the image data previously stored there is gone except for whatever you can find inside the recovered files.

Had you caught this the moment the partition was deleted, it may have been possible to use partition recovery software to not only restore the partition but the file directory tables on it as well, including all the original names and folders.

2. Windows Server Backup basically deleted both partitions and replaced it with 1 large partition and it formatted 5TB drive in minutes. This short time make me believe it only quick formatted the new partition. This can easily destroy the catalog for the backup drive I am hopeful from some test trials, I am glad I am able to recover files.

Since I have made this post, I have tried Acronis Revive 2019 demo. I only scanned for 30 minutes and it was able to see some of the files with catalog and same name. it is currently doing the full scan to see if it will return. If sectors are defined as NFTS Directory Entries, would those file contain the catalog of for the files?

First task is to make a clone of the hard drive and work on that. Also, any valuable data needs a backup system which you should have. On the clone you can try testdisk _Download Opens a new window which will restore the partitions and with it the file data if you are lucky.

Yes, it is possible to recover files with correct names and folder structure using Stellar data recovery software Opens a new window. Just download this tool on different drive and then connect the one from which you want to recover data. This software has ability to recover all types of deleted files without any alteration.

The situation here is a little more complex since the original two volumes were reformatted into a single volume, however this should make it more likely that you would be able to recover files from the second partition with the original directory structure and filenames attached. Most good reputable Data Recovery Software - including Ontrack Easy Recovery - should be able to get a good recovery here provided that the Master File Table of the second volume wasn't overwritten with new data. Most software has a free trial, so if you're not getting the results you are looking for with your current software, I'd recommend trying another to see if you can get a better result. If none of that works and the data is important, you could also consider giving Ontrack a call for an engineer assisted in-house recovery process.
