City of Houston Building Materials Reuse Warehouse - Open House!
When: Saturday, November 14th from 9am to 2pm

Where: 9003 North Main Street at Whitney, one block north of
Crosstimbers. Exit Crosstimbers from I-45 North and go west to Main
Street, or take the North Main Street exit from the North Loop 610 and

Come by and check out the facilities, and meet other people who are
donating, diverting, and reusing building materials In the Houston
area. Refreshments provided.


The City of Houston Building Materials Reuse Warehouse takes donations
of gently used building materials, stores the material, and makes it
available free of charge to non-profit organizations. To date, we have
diverted 80 tons of construction/demolition material from area
landfills. We are well on our way to meet our goal to divert 200 tons
by next spring. Numerous individuals and companies have made material
donations. Numerous nonprofit, religious, educational, and community
development organizations have put tons of material to reuse.

In order to build lasting relationships among people who are donating
and receiving material, as well everyone involved in facilitating this
dynamic, growing process, we hope you can make it to our first open
house.
