The Treasure Within Pt.2
5But he who keeps (treasures) His Word [who bears in mind His precepts, who observes His message in its entirety], truly in him has the love of and for God been perfected (completed, reached maturity). By this we may perceive (know, recognize, and be sure) that we are in Him: 6Whoever says he abides in Him ought [as [a]a personal debt] to walk and conduct himself in the same way in which He walked and conducted Himself. 1John 2:5-6 AMP
When the pressures of life hit you what is the first thing that does come to mind? Panic? Worry? Fear? Hopelessness? Im sure we can add a lot of words to this list. However with everything that I have described above there is a few things that we do have that overcomes all of those things. The biggest of all is our relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus. Having a relationship with Jesus is the door opener to all of the provision and resources that are available to you as a son and daughter of the Most High God.
How does one cultivate and grow their relationship with God? There are a few ways of course but one of the tools we have is fellowshipping with God through His Word. God and His Word are one in the same. They do not change. What the Bible says about an issue one day it will say the next and so on. The Word is unmovable, unshakeable and a firm foundation for all of those who are in the family of God. Once you begin to start doing things apart from God and His Word that is when things in our lives begin to fall apart. The devil will hit your mind with every possible thought and reason as to why everything in this natural world will solve your problems better than God's Word can. The enemy always tries to give us quick and temporary fixes to get our minds and our focus off of our life source which is the Word. This isnt some new techinque from the devil. He's been doing the same thing for thousands of years. We have to grow wise to his tactics and not give him an opportunity to do what he does best which is to steal, kill, and destroy you.
Thankfully though through ever situation we face we do have that choice. We have the choice to either listen and follow what God's Word says or we can listen to the enemies suggestions. This is why it is so important to follow what the above verses talk about. We have to follow the Word of God in its entirety. We cannot pick and choose which ways we want to obey the Lord. If you call Him Lord then you have to do what He says. Obedience is a sign of love and affection that you can show towards your heavenly Father. You have to trust and count on Him in all things. Remember Proverbs 3:5-6? It says to trust in the Lord with all your heart and to not lean on your own understanding, but in all your ways you acknowledge Him and then if you do that He will be leading and directing and guiding your path. But you have to do your part and follow and believe and trust God and His Word.
You can tell from those around you who is trusting God and who hasnt been stirving for perfecting their walk with Him. The above verse says we will be able to recognize and know (bearing fruit of righteousness) that we are in Him by what substance we have on the inside. If it is the Word of then you will be reaching that full maturity in God.
Maturity is a big word. It means you have gained experience through live application to constantly respond God's way above any other road that is out there to take. It means no matter what maybe happening around you that you dont bite the “worry” bullet. You wont cave into fear and tempation. You will repsond just like Jesus did when He was tempted with “It is written.” In what is written in the Word is your absolute victory.
