The Treasure Within Pt.1
5But he who keeps (treasures) His Word [who bears in mind His precepts, who observes His message in its entirety], truly in him has the love of and for God been perfected (completed, reached maturity). By this we may perceive (know, recognize, and be sure) that we are in Him: 6Whoever says he abides in Him ought [as [a]a personal debt] to walk and conduct himself in the same way in which He walked and conducted Himself. 1 John 2:5-6 AMP
What your heart treasures is huge. Whatever you think about when you go to bed and when you rise up in the morning is what you have been sowing into your heart for a very long time. For lots of people around the world they sow in their hearts worry, frustration, hate, low self esteem etc. They cant seem to look beyond the problems they have in front of them and look straight at the answer. Whats worse than that is for those who are Christians and have the Word of God at their disposal all the time and dont use it. It sits on their night stand and they pray to God, “Why why is this all happening to me?” Yet, the answer is right next to them.
If there is anything that I have shared with everyone over time it is the sure fact that the Word of God changes things. It changes things in this world and lines it up with what the is written in the Bible. When the Word of God is spoken in faith out of a believers mouth things do happen. The big question often asked is, “ Well how come when I speak the Word things only get worse or nothing happens at all?” My answer is simple and is laid out in Mark 11:23-24. When you start believing that those things which you say will come to pass, then you will start having what you say.
Being a Christian however isnt about just being someone who goes to church on Sunday and you sing a few songs and hear a message and then you go on living just like the devil the rest of the week. This is yet another stumbling block some Christians do have. How is this overcomed? By spending time in the Word of God. The more you fill up your spirit on the inside of you with God's Word the more the things in this world will have no drawing power on you.
A good example is this. Once a man is married and makes a covenant with his wife and places a ring on her hand what kind of drawing power on him does all the single ladies around him have? It should be absolutely none. Why? Because he remembers the words of eternal love that He promised and said before a congregation of people that he would love her and her alone all the days of his life. Also as a symbol of his devotion he has the ring on his finger that she put on him when they exchanged their vows. They both to each other are treasures and one would not ever want to do anything hurtful to the other because of the love they have for one another.
The same is with God and His Word. If you treasure the Word like you would treasure someone you love with all your heart in the nature world things even on that principle alone will start having a positive effect in your life. Building a love relationship with God starts with knowing what He is about, all that he thinks and He ways of doing things. You have to have the want to and the desire to seek Him with all you have. He has done His part, will you do yours?
Peace – nothing missing and nothing broken in your lives.
