The Light Within You Be Pt.2
“This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, That God is light, and in him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” 1 John 1:5-7 KJV
God is light, we are light. Pretty cool huh? The same substance that God is made of abides deep on the inside of us. Just think about it for a minute, God is a spirit and you are a spirit. He is light and so are you. The real us, our spirit man, has the same DNA as God's DNA. We are more in His image and likeness than our minds would want us to believe. But we do not go by what our minds tell us is truth, we have to go by what the Word of God says.
Whats interesting as I am reading through these few verses another concept comes to mind. The above verses say that in God there is no darkness at all. This is huge. If God can operate without any darkness in Himself can we? Of course we can. The rest of the verses above tell us so. So how does one drive out darkness in ones life soo much so that there isnt any left behind? Meditating and feeding on the Word of God.
Think of it in this example. Think of yourself as a glass. Without any substance in the glass the glass is in essence filled with air or darkness. As one though comes to the knowledge of the truth what begins to happen? You begin to get filled with water or the Word of God and every time you dig into your bible and feast off of the Word of God you are driving the air or darkness out of you. Remember what I said in the last devotion. Light and darkness cannot occupy the same space. Its impossible. The same way with the water in a glass. Once you pour water into the glass air cannot stay in there. The air has to escape and flee. Why? Water is a more dense substance than air. There is more weight to it.
Another good way of looking at this is imagine a 300 gallon drum of water when it only has air in it. What happens to that drum? When the winds come and blow on that empty drum the drums gets knocked over and rolls around being tossed by the wind. Now if that 300 gallon drum was filled with 300 gallons of water what can the wind do to that drum? Absolutely nothing. What can a 350 pound linebacker do to that drum when it is full of water? Nothing except get himself hurt. The same thing applies spiritually. Fill yourself up so much with the Word of God you are like a 300 pound drum filled to the top with substance. When you do that there is nothing the enemy can do because you have a substance within you that will 100% of the time be greater than who he the devil is or anything he can throw your way.
So this week make a quality choice to fill up your innerman with substance. Feed on the Word of God and watch the Word of God work marvelous things in your life.
