So I was recently diagnosed with ideopathic gasteroparesis. I had to
endure multiple tests and plenty of confused doctors, until finally, I
had a doctor that looked at me as a whole. I need someone to
understand the huge lifestyle change I now have made in order to stay
out of the hospital. If I yhave come to the right place, let me know.
I just need some other patients to talk with. I also need as much
advice as I can get.

I'm sorry to hear of the problems on your way to a diagnosis.
Gastroparesis is partly a diagnosis of exclusion - that is, eliminate
other (more common) reasons for the symptoms before heading straight
to declaring gastroparesis.

I've read that up to 4% of the population suffers from some form of
gastroparesis, but that includes indigestion from slow emptying to the
more debilitating and severe cases.
Getting a firm diagnosis means that you can now move forward.
There are certainly lifestyle changes that accompany gastroparesis,
but patients who manage their symptoms well can engage and participate
in life fully.
Best,
