When I try to print, I get a message on my laptop hat says "[printer] has a problem that requires user intervention;" however, it does not state what the problem is, and the printer does not have an error message. It simply looks as though the document never got sent over.
As I was typing this message, the printer randomly started printing the document. I'm going ot leave the question here, however, because this problem has happened afew times in the last couple of days. The only solution so far has been to restart the computer and the printer and try again, but I don't think I should need to do this every time I need to print something.
Welcome to the HP forums! It is a great way to engage, post questions and find resolutions by working with specialists in the HP community. I see from the post that you are getting an error message on your HP laptop. I'll try my best to help you with this.
I would start by checking the installed printer software by downloading and running the HP Print and Scan Doctor. This tool can diagnose and fix many printing and printer software related issues. Please use this link to help you with that information:
1. Hold down the Windows Logo key () on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the run box, type Services.msc .
2. Double-click Printer Spooler in the Services list.
3. Click on the Stop button and click OK.
4. Hold down the Windows Logo key () on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the run box, type"%WINDIR%\system32\spool\printers, then delete all files in this folder.
5. Go back to services by holding down the Windows Logo key () on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the run box, type Services.msc again.
6. Double-click Printer Spooler in the Services list.
7. Click on the Start button. In the Startup Type list, make sure that Automatic is selected and click OK.
I am having the exact same problem... attention required and unable to print or more accurately rare and sporatic printing from a Windows 10 PC. Printing from an Android phone works fine. I have unsuccessfully tried the troubleshooting steps. I cannot connect printer to network even though it sees the printer. I have manually input the exact subnet, but this does not work. I have confirmed the same network etc. but nothing is working. I have uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled making sure the drivers are up to date. What other oprions do I have?
I am having the same problem. I find the solution wholly insufficient. This is a software problem - somehow, the printer is not communicating with the computer that whatever problem has been fixed. Therefore, HP needs to address this as a software bug. These cumbersome steps will not prevent the problem from happening again.
I had the same issue with my HP P2035n printer on the LAN. The USB connection worked fine. What I noticed was the auto detect feature of Windows 10 created a port called WSD-xxxx for the printer and for whatever reason, it seemed to not work with the printer. I resolved the "attention required" issue by removing the printer and adding it manually through creating a TCP/IP port (static IP). Hope this helps.
No, I have never received support from HP or the community that provides a fix for this. The prior post that offers a possible solution notes that the USB connection to the printer works. Mine does not. It does not work via hard connection USB nor a wireless connection. You would think HP might offer some assistance. Shameful.
I have -- as another commenter said -- gotten no help ever from those who've signed as an 'HP employee' and only a little bit from 'community members.' The HP trouble-shooting software is troubling, as well.

The Field Education Program within the Department of Social Work provides an opportunity for students to integrate their curriculum knowledge with real-life, hands-on experiences in a variety of field practice settings. Students are supervised by experienced social work Field Instructors at human services agencies where they refine their social work skills and begin their lives as social work professionals.
The Field Education requirements and standards are set by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) 2015 Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (EPAS). Field Education is regarded as the "signature pedagogy" of the Social Work program. Field education is the central form of instruction and learning in which a profession socializes its students to perform the role of practitioner, connects the theoretical and conceptual contributions of the classroom with the practical world of the practice setting, and is systematically designed, supervised, coordinated, and evaluated based on criteria by which students demonstrate the achievement of program competencies.
The field placement is a vital part of the professional development of the student. Through our collaborative efforts the Department of Social Work and human service organizations will continue to offer field education of the highest quality to enhance human well-being and meet the basic human needs of people within this area of North Carolina. The BSW students complete block placements in the last semester of their senior year. Students planning to enter field (SW 4650 and SW 4690) must submit a field application to the Field Director by February 1 in order to be considered for a placement in the following Fall semester or by September 1 in order to be considered for a placement in the following Spring semester.
The field placement is a vital part of the professional development of the student. Through our collaborative efforts the Social Work Department and human service organizations will continue to offer field education of the highest quality to enhance human well-being and meet the basic human needs of all people. Master of Social (MSW) work students complete concurrent field placements two semesters per year.
Ever since "upgrading" to OS Ventura my print settings are a complete mess. Nothing "sticks" no matter how often I change presets and save them, it always defaults back to garbage output with two-sided printing defaulting to "On", incorrect paper trays selected despite saving presets for specific paper trays etc.
