Hi Everyone!  Please take a moment to read and update your info!  Our kids and Leah are healthier and happier when the class is cleaned regularly.  Please take responsibility (thanks to those that are on top of it!) to mark your calendar.  Fara will do her best to remind you when your week is coming up but please be procative about it so that there isn't a gap in cleaning.

Peace,
Sara

Subject: new cleaning schedule

Dear 8th grade parents,

It has become necessary to create another cleaning schedule due to date confusion, fires, and cleaning not getting done.  Please read and add to your calendar your new cleaning date.

Reminders will now be sent by text due to no shows happening for cleaning.  I will be using the numbers in the school directory.

** If you can not clean when it is your turn PLEASE find an alternative or pay the cleaners.  Some parents ask others to trade cleaning dates with them.

If you do choose to pay cleaners please read below on how to do this and what tasks still need to be done that cleaners DO NOT do.

In the past there has been many separate emails explaining the needed information to get the job done but it is all in one email now:)

I sincerely hope this email helps and appreciate everyone's patience.
Thank you so much for cleaning the classroom!

Fara (Kingston’s Mom)

Thank you for cleaning the classroom!  The following are the general tasks that need to be done.  Please check in with Leah to see if there is anything special that might need attention this week (336)542-2241.  If you are going to pay someone to clean the classroom you will still need to wash the laundry and bring in fresh flowers on Monday.  This will involve throwing out the old flowers too.

1. Wipe down desks, chairs and any other horizontal surfaces
2. Vacuum the floor
3. Take out trash and recycling and compost
4. Clean out the microwave and coffee area
5. Clean any cups
6. Throw out old flowers
7. Wash laundry

Cleaning supplies can be found by the microwave.  There are clean rags in a bin under the microwave table.  There are a couple of vacuums in the Janitor’s closet in the Faculty Room, located in the hall where the bathrooms are.  These vacuums are old and may not be the best choice if you have low back problems.  If you have a vacuum you like, I’d suggest bringing your own.  Use the Faculty Room sink to wash cups and coffee pot.  Please leave the Faculty Room tidy.

****HOW TO GET THE KEY AND GATE CODE

There is only one key for 8th grade classroom so please use care. The key needs to be signed out from school office during school hours-
M,Tues.,Wed.,Fri. hours- 8am-4pm
Thurs. hours- 8am-1:30pm
AND the key needs to be returned the following Monday

Parents are asked to to these:

  • Wash all rags and return them to the classroom Monday morning if applicable
  • Many parents bring flowers to beautify the room but it's not necessary

Cleaner checks should be made out to:

Parents need to bring the check into the office by the Wednesday before the weekend they want cleaned.
