8th grade graduation ceremony. ❤️

Dear all, 

I’m writing you with many parent and student sentiments behind me in this request. I would like to ask on behalf of the students and parents of 8th grade that we organize a zoom graduation. I'm aware of many schools that are creatively finding a way to send off their graduates, to honor the accomplishments of their journey. 

There are many of us who have been at live oak since Kindergarten and it seems a shame not to put some creativity and effort to acknowledge these students in a public ceremonious way. Ritual, ceremony and community is the heartbeat of our Live Oak School. 

 Many parents have invested time, energy and their hearts into the community of Live 

Oak and it seems like a small request to give us all a parting, closure and blessing for this next chapter in our lives.

At graduation the students write a speech to share at graduation. I feel that this process is so instrumental and important to realize the amazing people they have grown into and to remember all the wonderful and the challenging times of their experience. I know this is not an easy task for many students, but it is something they will be proud of and remember. 

 It would be such a gift  for the parents to hear from each one our 8th grade students and is something that I think will give us  all courage and strength to embrace this next phase of our lives.  

Let's not miss this opportunity. I’m willing to help in any way to make this happen.

We are just a few weeks away from the end of the year and I had not received any communication about a graduation ritual and ceremony, unless I missed a communication. I do hope the students will be able to share something about their experience.
