Is there a free edition of Adobe LiveCycle ES2 Server ?

If yes, is it available as a virtual instance (cloud), or I can
download it and install it on my Laptop ?

I hope there is a way to download Adobe LiveCycle ES2 on my laptop, at
least the following components

- Process Management,

- Output,

- Workbench.

My Laptop has Windows 7 SP1, Intel Core M 520 @ 2.4 GHz, 4 GB RAM
(2.99 GB usable).

Any one can point me to some guide where I can install Adobe LiveCycle
Free on my Laptop under a Virtual Machine (to avoid messing with the
main programs)? It will be purely for testing and training purposes.

Tarek.

This used to be the way. This is a complete tutorial that allowed you to
get setup and going. I have no idea if Adobe is even offering this still

http://technoracle.blogspot.com/2010/04/using-livecycle-es2-on-cloud.html

As for free, there was a developer license available. This license
covered all testing and development but did not allow for production.

The download is unwieldily (over 2gb). It is better to find an Adobe
Community Partner to get the resources from of go direct to Adobe.

Uberity can help you if you want.

hi,
of course you can test Adobe LiveCycle , you can download Adobe LiveCycle ES3 from here  http://www.adobe.com/devnet/enterprise-platform/trial-downloads.html , this version works in Windows 7 , but you need more space in your disk, and probably with 4GB ram you are in the limit.

Thanks Duane,

Wonderful video tutorial ! I learned a lot from it.

I am sure I will have to watch it again. But it seems that to have an
account, you need to purchase annual subscription, which is still a
good choice.

Thanks Gabriel,

This trial download works only for a limited period, I think it is
only 2 weeks.

For training, I need more than that. I think the only way is to get
account for the access the Express thing.

BTW... for the Server installer, you are way better off actually downloading and installing the Akamai download manager that is offered.  It increased download speed by a lot.  Standard HTTP was looking like 3h for me, now its 13 minutes with the download manager, which probably does something interesting with the Akamai network.

AFAIK, yes. I am not sure if you can get an account that is limited (10
hrs per month) for free anymore.

One other option is to download it as Matt suggested, the get a cloud
account on your own and host it there. You will pay for bandwidth though
and just the 2GB upload to do the install will cost a lot. Do you want me
to find out from Adobe for you?

I am just finding out what are my options for the time being.

But, if I will go for the cloud option, I will not opt for download/
upload.
