Hi All,

I'm trying to convert a TIFF 7 JPEG image to PDF using a customized component, but i'm getting an error like "Compression JPEG is only supported with a single strip. This image has 19 strips." This customized component was developed through JAVA. Same component is working fine for TIFF 6 format.

Kindly help me out to resolve this.

Thanks in advance.

Can you supply the full error from Livecycle? It sounds like an error that iText PDF library would generate and not Livecycle.

Hi Darren,

Thanks for your replay. Below is the error message.

"ExceptionConverter: java.io.IOException: Compression JPEG is only supported with a single strip. This image has 19 strips.
    at com.itextpdf.text.pdf.codec.TiffImage.getTiffImageColor(TiffImage.java:431)
    at com.itextpdf.text.pdf.codec.TiffImage.getTiffImage(TiffImage.java:132)"

Yes you are right we are getting the error from iTextpdf lib only. Is there any work around for this.Kindly suggest.

Thanks in advance.

I would probably head over to the iText PDF forums and ask there. This isn't a module of Livecycle so not sure how much help you will get here.

Thanks Darren,

Is there any work around for converting TIFF 7 to PDF, using any of the native component in Adobe live cycle ES4?

TIFF to PDF is usually done via PDFGen. The fact that you are using iText probably means you don't have PDFGen so I would expect there isn't much you can do from Livecycle

Can you  plz give little bit more info about this PDFGen?? or where i can find about it??

Thanks in advance.

Log into AdminUI then do Help > About. You will see PDF Generator module listed if you have it.

Hi Darren,

Thanks for your suggestions.

Somehow  we were able to convert the multiple strip TIFF image to PDF file. But the resultant PDF file size is more. Now we are trying to compress the PDF further. Can you suggest if there is any such component or any way to compress the PDF?

Sure - PDFGen module will help you compress PDF files using the optimizePDF method
