How can I design a PDF form in Hindi/Devnagri language. I tried using Adobe Professional 9 but it does not support the Hindi fonts.

You’ll need to do the following:
1. Make sure “Arial Unicode MS” and (say) “Mangal” fonts exists on the
machine where you’re designing forms. I’m taking an example of Hindi
language support (and hence Mangal font used).
2. Get Asian and Central European font pack
If using Reader 8: Go to http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/acrrasianfontpack.html,
select Reader version -> Korean as the Font Pack Language -> Platform
If using Reader 9: Go to http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=3982
to download the Korean font pack
3. Please note, these font packs are required to be present on client
setup, i.e. where reader is installed to display Indian language fonts
correctly. This is a on time activity. It is also possible that the
reader installation already has the font packs installed.

Hi Leena,

Thanks for your valuable help. I am actually using Adobe Acrobat Professional to develop PDF forms. I don't get option of using Mangal or any other fonts when designing the form labels in Acrobat Professional. Does installing the font packs also applies to the adobe live cycle form designer?

Sujay

Actually first thing you should make sure is that you have Arial
Unicode or Mangal Formts installed on teh system on which you have the
designer. This will make sure that those Fornts appear in the Designer
options as well.If you want i'll send you a sample pdf form created
with Hindi labels but I have used LCES Designer 8.2 not Acrobat.

Thanks Leena, I installed Office 2007 and got the Arial Unicode MS fonts. I am able to create Hindi forms now. Thanks a lot for your valuable help.
