Using the signaturePseudoModel to verify a signature field

Has anyone been able to use the signaturePseudoModel to determine whether or not a signature field has been signed/filled? Has anyone been able to do anything with this model? I can't get it to work! 

For example:

var oSigs = xfa.signature.enumerate();
var iNum = oSigs.length; 

iNum is always zero. Nothing in this model works for me with a signature field that accepts signing certificates.

If this model doesn't work for these fields then how can I determine if a signature field has been signed, e.g. before a submit?
