Hi,

Can anyone tell me the best possible way to convert PDF files to XDP? I have 500 PDF forms that needs to be converted to XDP. Not sure if this really works out well but would like to give it a try otherwise we need to re-design the forms from scratch.

I am aware that there is a PDFUtility that I can use but does that requrie any specific module to be bought?

Regards,
AJ

I wouldn't say it's the best way but if you're starting with an acroform, you open the file with Livecycle Designer and select the  option for flowable layout.

Once you see what Designer has done, you can decide if it's easier to fix the conversion or start from scratch.  I find it's often easier to start from scratch.

There is a utility in the API docs.   You can also do this with free open source libs like PDFBox if you do not own LiveCycle ES licensing.

Contact me offline if you want a pointer.
