You can do it very easily using cloud services like Clickatel and Twilio.  I have successfully used both services.

Yes but not out of the box as far as I know. Uberity built a module that
could be wrapped as a DSC to do this or deployed with the server.

Please contact me off-line to get the details. We can solve this easily.

Hi,

Those services have Java and REST apis.  You use those APIs to develop a DSC, which you then may leverage within a LiveCycle process.

I'll echo this! Being able to use SMS from LiveCycle to validate users
cell phone numbers should be a very useful feature for a lot of people.
Matt's code and the free DSC are a great contribution to the LC community.

I agree, awesome work - and if it's just for the value of having another good example for how to properly write a DSC when one wouldn't want to use the actual SMS integration.

BTW: I'm just compiling a bunch of resources for a blog post on DSCs, if anyone else has something to contribute (article, links, tutorials etc) let me know and I'll include it.

Cheers
Kai

Hi Kai,

I have collected some code samples and info about using Adobe Dynamic
PDF with .NET to Create, Insert, Save, and control Status. It is all
under my Google Workspace:

http://bit.ly/w00nNc

It is not complete in terms if documentation, but I am ready to
complete it if there is demand for it.

Tarek.

Myself as well. I taught a class at MAX on this in 2010. I'll dig up.

I just put an LCA up at http://uberity.com/services/livecycle.php.  It includes the Twilio component, and allows you to test out SMS sending -- just right click on the process and invoke it.  You will be prompted for your Twilio account info, recipient and origination info.

Enjoy!

Is there any interest in putting up a github project, possibly with our SMS stuff as a starting point, and allow interested parties to check in their DSCs that they want to share with the community?  All it would take is for me to figure out Maven a bit better so we can spit out multiple jars, and add committers to the repository on github.com.

Also...as a bonus... if you don't care about SMS, you can still check out the project, and replace the classes, edit the pom.xml and component.xml and have a ready-made maven DSC environment.  I am thinking of generating a Maven archetype as well, and will likely do that when I have some down time.

Hi Matt and Duane,
I am IN for the community project to contribute and build DSC library
on github. I've created lot of DSC/QPACs over the years.
cheers,

Cool!

So, I have setup a maven project that allows us to just add modules to it easily.  See: https://github.com/uberity/liblc

If you want to contribute, please email me privately, and we will coordinate getting you push rights to the repository, and I can help setup the modules for you, so you only need to work on dependencies, src and component.xml.
