Hello Dears

Question1 :-How can i know how many hits is on any site
and how to restrict the hits in apache

Question2 :- Why we configure reverse look up because let us think that for yahoo we never access through ip address. Is any site work without reverse lookup entry.

Thanks
Arvind

for question number 1-

you can use any free tool like - awstat, weblizer (shipped with apache) or google analtycs ( bare minimum setup, just need to put the code of 1-2 line)
you can restrict using firewall or tcp wrappers ( order allow deny in your apache configuration)

Hit's arround 100 ?
what do you mean ? after 100 hits do you want to stop the apache??
is'nt it?
or min max request in apache MPM module.(serch prefork & workers setting )

you can do this things to but you need to do some scripting , i mean shel scripting

basic logic is that

1 - read the value of hits and capture it in a variable
2- match this threshold and copare it with 100, if this value reaches to 100 shoot the command " kill all -9 httpd"

:)
