couple of questions on cluster

Hello Friends,

1) What is quarum disk. Why we create seperate quarum partition for cluster nodes.what is the role of quarum in cluster.

2) What is GFS. What is the diff between GFS and GFS2. Why we format the data storage volume in GFS2 file system in a cluster.

describe the line:-

# mkfs.gfs2  -p  lock_dlm  -t  cluster1:sanvol1  -j  1  /dev/sdb

where /dev/sdb is the iscsi data volume .

3) What is the roles of these services

   ricci , rpcmanager

    cman , qdiskd

4) In Resource tab I have allocated three resource. Ip address of the cluster , GFS file system and service name. Why we do this. why we allocate resource and which resource we have to describe.
