How to rescan the LUNS in linux

Hi all,

Many people asks, we have published the luns to linux servers and how
to rescan it. Peoples are used to reboot the system and it works. If
you don't want to reboot the linux system, try this simple script :-

for HOST in `ls /sys/class/scsi_host`; do echo "- - -">/sys/class/
scsi_host/$HOST/scan; done

Hello All,
 
I am getting this error when i am adding iscsi disk to the existing raid 5
 
 mdadm: failed to add /dev/sdb1 to /dev/md1    4: Invalid argument
 
attached is my existing raid status
 
and sdb1 is the iscsi storage raid partition
