Hi all,

Many people asks, we have published the luns to linux servers and how
to rescan it. Peoples are used to reboot the system and it works. If
you don't want to reboot the linux system, try this simple script :-

for HOST in `ls /sys/class/scsi_host`; do echo "- - -">/sys/class/
scsi_host/$HOST/scan; done

Hope, it will help.

Can you send your complete command and output which is giving this error.  Please use --verbose to get the detailed info with your mdadm command.

Hi Arvind,

I do not know whether you have solved the matter, however, will you pleae try the followings as well.

1. You can not add another device in RAID 5 when all three devices are there. You have to drop one to add one. Since RAID 5 can handle 3 devices in single mount point.

2. Same goes for your another RAID 6. The quota is for 4. Adding another device will not help.

Please let us know whether the information was helpfull.

Thanks.

Hello Rajveer,

Sorry for late reply.

Yes ,  the problem is solved by first removing one divice.
