What a surprise to receive a call Saturday afternoon from our lake
neighbor Jerry stating that the lake had flooded and our boat was off
the lift and sitting swamped in our yard! He had received a similar
call from another neighbor - and so the word spread. Tammy - thank
you too for the email announcements you sent even earlier.
Unfortunately I taken the day off work and missed the messages!
Still, it's nice to know our friends living at the lake are looking
out for those of us who have not yet moved there.

We currently live a little more than an hour north of Avon and were
planning a trip down to mow our lots Sunday. After hearing the news
Saturday afternoon, we immediately jumped into the truck and drove
down. Our plan was to get the boat pushed back in lake before the
water receded. No such luck. We did manage to drain the boat and
get the weight of the boat off the motor so propellor was no longer
stuck in the mud. We made a return visit Sunday (with reinforcements)
and managed to get the boat pushed back into the water. The flood had
also lifted our dock up off its piers and set it back down on one
corner of our boat lift. Between the general cleanup of debris, dock
repairs and boat rescue, we certainly had a full day. Still, any day
at the lake is a good day. :)

I'm hoping all your flooding issues were minor and all were easily
resolved. It was good hearing Tammy's stories of missing items found
and neighbors helping neighbors.
