New Jersey’s official health insurance marketplace,
is underway and continues through Jan. 31.

 

New customers can enroll in coverage and check whether they qualify for financial help by clicking here.

A last-minute push from Democrats and four moderate Republicans will force a House vote on renewing enhanced premium tax credits for Affordable Care Act plans, but not until January. That means millions will have to choose between paying dramatically more or dropping coverage next year. Meanwhile, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention officially drops the federal recommendation for newborns to receive a hepatitis B shot.

With support from the Office of Innovation, hundreds more datasets from across State government have been added or linked to data.nj.gov. This open data boosts public transparency and allows everyone - from students to startups - to develop new ideas, such as those called for in the New Jersey AI Innovation Challenge, open through Jan. 19.

RESOURCE: New Tool Helps Doulas Become Medicaid Providers

The Office of Innovation, the Department of Human Services, the Department of Health, and the Maternal and Infant Health Innovation Authority developed a new tool to help New Jersey doulas quickly complete paperwork to become Medicaid (NJ FamilyCare) fee-for-service providers. "Holiday Lights Spectacular" planned at Turtle Back Zoo through Jan. 3 in West Orange. The zoo will be illuminated and there will be more than 50 winter- and holiday-themed characters. The event is free and from 5-9 p.m. Donations of non-perishable food, used winter coats, and new toys are suggested. It is closed Dec. 24-25 and Jan. 1.
