Voting in Primary Races for Special Election in CD-11

Today, Thursday, February 5 is a special primary Election Day in Congressional District 11. Voters in CD-11, which is compromised of portions of Essex, Morris and Passaic counties will vote to select each party’s nominee for Congress in CD-11.

All registered Democrats and Republicans in CD-11 can vote in the primary. Unaffiliated voters can declare for either party at the polls.

Congressional District 11 is made up of 15 municipalities in Essex County, 27 in Morris County, and 4 in Passaic County. Click here to see the list of towns.

Voters who received a ballot in the mail have three ways to vote by 8:00 pm on election day:

1. Place their ballot in a secure ballot drop box within their county.

 2. Deliver it to their county board of elections.

3. Have it postmarked by 8:00 pm.

The New Jersey State AFL-CIO has made NO Candidate Endorsements in the special primary election. However, we encourage all union voters living within Congressional District 11 to make their voices heard.

Click here to find your polling location, a ballot drop box, or your county election office.

New Jersey Department of Health seeks blood and platelet donations from eligible residents amid a statewide shortage, according to a press release. NJDOH attributes the shortage to the recent winter storm and flu season. The state has a short supply of Type O, A-, and B- red blood cells, and less than one day’s supply of single donor platelets. Eligible residents can make an appointment to give blood at American Red Cross Services, Hunterdon Healthcare, Miller-Keystone Blood Center, New York Blood Center, RWJBarnabas Health, and Vitalant Blood Services.
