Negative stories about Medicare Advantage (MA) insurers are finally making it to mainstream media after percolating below the surface for years. More and more patientsphysicians, and even health care executives are speaking up about the disastrous expansion of this program. Shockingly, some of these stories have come from the insurance companies themselves. 

With no hint of shame or irony, executives like CFO Thomas Cowhey of CVS Health have delivered lines such as “The goal next year is margin over membership,” making explicit that more money is their mantra. With all these reports of limited networks, care denials, delayed payments, and corporate greed, you may feel like the story of MA can’t get any worse.

NJAW Lead Service Line Replacement Program

NJAW’s qualified contractor, CDM Smith, continues to perform inventory assessments of water service line materials throughout NJAW service areas and is currently working in Little Falls Township. 

Attached is a Little Falls Township service line material map which shows the area where inventory assessments will be performed the week of 6/24/2024.  The canvassing team will continue in tracts 1540.03 and 1540.04 After a first pass through these areas is complete the team will begin with their second canvass attempts in tract 1540.06.

Statewide Marketing Campaign to Boost 211 Awareness

Launched at the end of March, the NJ 211 marketing campaign, funded by the Department of Children and Families, is on a mission to spread awareness about 211 and its services through June of 2025. Creative assets will be strategically placed throughout the state, popping up on billboards, bus shelters, train stations, and even pharmacies. A Public Awareness Toolkit has been created and can be found on our Media page, empowering agencies and partners throughout the state to join the effort in spreading the word about NJ 211 and its invaluable services. Agencies who are interested in updating their listing or getting listed can visit the Service Provider area of our website.
