SEEKING PHOTOS OF OUR HOMETOWN HEROES

The Township of Little Falls, with the assistance of American Legion Commander Herb Brychta, is currently working on a “Hometown Heroes” project. We have identified all the Little Falls War dead and are trying to obtain photographs of them. With some of the veterans going back to WWI, this has been an arduous task. These photographs will be placed on banners and displayed around town.

Below is a list of 28 fallen service members that we need photographs for or have ones that need digital reprocessing:

  • Austin Loran
  • James Storey Moon
  • John Adams Beattie
  • George H. Cueman
  • Louis Carota
  • John Di Giacomo
  • Leon De Graw
  • Vincent Dombrowski
  • Raymond Fylstra
  • Christian Fimble
  • Robert Harriott
  • Michael G. Hackes
  • Michael J Kreel
  • Thomas Kolanich
  • Nickolas Marchisen
  • George W. Metzler
  • Michael Marchisen
  • Walter Marron Jr.
  • Angelo Mirabelli
  • John W. O’Connor
  • James F. Purdy Jr.
  • Robert V. Pitcher
  • George Ritacco
  • John Ritamay
  • Walter Rogalski
  • JosephVan Stratton
  • Steven Walker
  • Walter Yaworski

Anyone that has a digital photo of a service member listed can email it to Herb Brychta – hbry...@yahoo.com or Assistant Business Administrator Vincent Quatrone – vqua...@lfnj.com.

Citizens are always welcome to drop off their photos at the Municipal Building as well.

The Public Health Emergency is Over, COVID-19 and Other Respiratory Viruses Are Not

COVID virus.png

New Jerseyans are encouraged to continue taking precautions to keep themselves and their loved ones healthy. Though the federal public health emergency for COVID-19 has ended, COVID-19 and other respiratory viruses are still among us.

COVID-19 vaccines remain free and available to everyone. Find locations offering COVID-19 vaccines and boosters on the COVID-19 Vaccine Finder and Community Calendar. If symptoms appear, get tested for COVID-19. As always, keep children home from school and child care centers if they are feeling unwell.

  • Residents who received ANCHOR property-tax relief benefits earlier this year will be automatically enrolled for the next ones, according to an announcement posted today by the state Division of Taxation
    • The automatic application does not guarantee those applicants will receive the benefits that run as high as $1,750, but it will save them a step if key application information hasn't changed.
    • Those who do qualify for automatic enrollment will be notified by the end of this month, the announcement said.
    • The next round of benefits, paid via check or direct deposit, are to be delivered on a rolling basis, likely into 2024.
    • Eligibility will be based off applicants' 2020 incomes as filed with the state. The previous benefits were based on 2019 incomes.
    • Those who did not receive this year's benefits or have to update key application information will be required to file a new application.
    • Application packets will be in the mail by Sept. 1. Updated applications are due Sept. 30, and all others are due by Dec. 29, 2023.
    • Check here for the full announcement.
