Growing up in a digital world that moves fast, and it can be hard to know where to start when it comes to keeping them safe and helping them thrive online. This Coffee Talk is a chance to sit down with other families who understand that journey and walk away with real, practical guidance.

A few things we'll cover:

• The latest tech trends

• Tools and strategies for safety, both physically and digitally

• How to use Bark as a bridge to independence and skill development

The session will be led by Adam Brooks from Bark, a former Special Education teacher and the Program Coordinator for Connected Communities along with P2P USA staff to moderate and engage with you and families.

Inflation spikes, yet again:

Inflation spiked to 3.5 percent in March, according to new data, up from 2.8 percent in February.

What contributed to a surge in prices: The war in Iran drove a significant increase in inflation.

The numbers: Prices jumped 0.7 percent last month, up from 0.4 percent in February. Excluding food and energy prices, inflation spiked to 3.2 percent. That figure grew to a whopping 3.5 percent when food and energy are included.

Plus: Oil prices rose to their highest level since the war in Iran began. Brent crude oil hit $126 per barrel overnight, reaching a four-year high.

And the average price of gasoline hit $4.30 a gallon today, up 27 cents in the past week, according to AAA.

Justice in Aging proudly supports the HCBS Access Act, which was reintroduced yesterday by Representatives Debbie Dingell (D-MI) and Jan Schakowsky (D-IL). This transformative legislation would flip the script on access to the support older adults with limited income and resources need to age in their homes and communities.

Today, far too many older adults cannot afford care, families are strained, and more people are institutionalized than need to be. The HCBS Access Act would address many gaps and inequities in the current aging and disability care system by making home and community-based services (HCBS) a comprehensive and universally covered Medicaid benefit.

The HCBS Access Act, along with the Long-Term Care Workforce Support Act, would also invest in the direct care workforce to bring more people into the caregiving profession and ensure that they are well-trained and fairly compensated. This legislation would make enormous strides towards ensuring older adults can age in dignity and we are committed to working with Congress to enact it.
