Take the Survey: Help Shape NYC Transit Service for Bloomfield Residents

Do you travel to and from New York City by bus or train—or wish it were easier to do so? The Township of Bloomfield is conducting a short survey to better understand residents’ travel habits, preferences, and barriers when using public transit to NYC.

Results will be shared with NJ Transit to support ongoing discussions about weekend and off-peak weekday service.

Please take a few minutes to complete the survey, and share it with fellow Bloomfield residents before January 31.

This week, House and Senate appropriators released a negotiated spending package for the four remaining Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 appropriations bills including Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies (Labor‑H). The Labor‑H bill largely maintains education program funding at current levels.  All Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) programs are fundedincluding Part D and the preschool program. The agreement includes language expressing congressional concern about Interagency Agreements that shift key K–12 and higher education programs to other agencies and reaffirms that education funds are intended to be administered by the U.S. Department of Education and may be transferred only with explicit congressional approval.

This article from Disability Scoop provides additional detail on the appropriations. https://www.disabilityscoop.com/2026/01/23/congress-poised-to-reject-trump-changes-to-special-ed-disability-programs/31823/
