I enjoyed reading "The Odyssey". As for Odysseus, his character is one
that plays it to the hilt; he experiences life as it comes to him and
sometimes searches for the ultimate experience throughout his many
journeys. For example, he visits the underground - HELL - which
frightens me to pieces. I on the other hand, like to play it safe,
without risk. So, if you compare Odysseus to me, we would be
opposites.

Even though we are at extreme ends, I am attracted to Odysseus in the
sense of experiencing life situations through him. His life journeys
are full of thrill, danger and the unimaginable - therefore reading
about his different trials throughout his journey has me on the edge
of my seat - thinking of what could possibly happen next. I can
honestly say - that I never predict the outcome.

I usually read for recreational purposes. Fiction books of Romance,
Suspense are my usual choices. But I have to say - that I will have to
broaden my horizons after this class. I don't always read into the
story the same thing as everyone else but it is definitely eye opening.

I also enjoyed reading the Odyssey. There was twist and turns in
every book that led you to ponder previous reading. His journey was
one of "bad" luck, but necessity. I questioned would he have been the
same man if he had taken the straight path home instead of each stop
he made. Odysseus learned from each adventure that made him grow as a
man, warrior, husband, father and king.
