DesireExhibition is the power or ability to bring out an individual's deepest desire. The effects vary from how intelligent the person is. If someone has enough will power, it can take a few moments longer to figure out what they want. Celestial Beings such as Gods, Angels, and Demons are immune to its power. The only known Human immune to the ability is Chloe Decker, who nicknamed it Mojo.
In The Sandman Presents: Lucifer - The Morningstar Option #3 (written by Mike Carey and drawn by Scott Hampton), Lucifer explains he needed Rachel Begai to channel her desire to destroy the Velleity, as he himself is short on desire:
Getting the Letter serves other means - breaking free of Yahweh's Creation, and of his omniscience and omnipresence. This is what Lucifer wants, or desires (as explained later, from the start of creation) - he doesn't show interest in anything else, and everything he does in the Lucifer comics series is for that one goal.
Morningstar does not "desire" - he plans and gets what he wants, not "wishes" and "hopes" to get it - there is no passion, so no desire, just cold calculation. There you have Rachel that is full of passion - she regrets that she is responsible for the death of her brother, so she hopes and desires to fix her mistake by killing the Velleity.
2. He can play on people's Fears because he simply exposes them by carefully paying attention. When he says "I pay attention, Miss Mazikeen." One example is when Linda unknown it was Michael and not Luci in Ep 502 asks who is taking care of Hell and she needs to if Charlie is safe or not. Michael notices that she is so worried about Charlie that he finds out she may not be able to take care of him, won't be able to keep him safe that she'll be a bad mother. After all he was supposed to be a half angel.
I think because of the whole self actualisation thing, it shows micheals own fears. He draws fear out of other people to hide his own fears of being less than lucifer deep down. The powers are extrenely similar though i think because micheal and lucifer are similar (being twins)
I guess lucifers desire power comes from the fact people blame him for their problems. If he can draw out their desires then they feel at fault for their own actions, hiding lucifers very justified insecurities
From what I have seen in the show Lucifer's and Michael's mojo compliments their personalities. Lucifer brings out people's desires and Michael's greatest desire is to be Lucifer. Vice versa Michael brings out people's fear and Lucifer's greatest fear became losing his life with Chole to Michael. In a way their respective mojo also reflects their own as well as the opposites biggest insecurities. Lucifer desired free will, so he rebelled and failed. Michael feared not being of any worth to God, so he manipulated and became bitter. Both of them also envy their twins position.
Also, In the DC canon Michael is the strongest being after God and the leader of the Holy Host i.e. the army of heaven and he was also the one who personally defeated Lucifer in his rebellion, so it makes sense that he brings out people's fears due his fearsome angelic persona as a indestructible warrior.
It had been a few months since you first met the overly enthusiastic bar owner that insisted on helping you solve murders. At first you had argued with your superiors over letting a civilian get involved, though they didn't listen to you. However, even you had to admit that Lucifer had a knack for helping you find a key piece of information to pull it all together. Not that you would ever admit to him. The man had a big enough ego as it was, there was no reason to make it bigger.
"And that's what we know." You finished. "We have a few witness that were here when it happened. If you want to help, why don't you talk to them? Do your whole "what is it you truly desire" stick."
You quickly covered his mouth before he could finish that sentence even as you felt red stain your cheeks. "If you need to practice that badly, why don't you go practice on the witnesses instead?"
He took your wrist and lightly pulled it from his mouth. "You never let me hear your answer detective." Mostly because you didn't know what you would say if he finished that question. You didn't know if it was hypnosis or what, but you did know that whoever Lucifer asked that to would answer honestly. "But it is rather cute to see you so flustered, so I'll drop it for now."
You sighed in relief as soon as he was away. That man was able to ruffles your feathers way too easily. You needed to get a handle on that, especially since it looked like you both would be working together for a while considering his track record.
You walked off to talk to Dan and Chloe. Both of them were studying the glass sliding door that was clearly broken. "I'm guessing that's how our guy got in here? How did no one hear the glass breaking?"
"Apparently they had the music up loud enough that no one heard anything." Dan rolled his eyes. "There were several noise complaints called in. Cops were on their way here when they got the call about the murder."
"I sent him to talk to the witnesses. I figured he should make himself useful." It was then that you heard a loud female laugh behind you. You glanced over your shoulder and saw one of the female partygoers standing extremely close to Lucifer. He was smirking down at her as he said something that caused her to laugh loudly again. You felt your eye twitch a bit, if it was from the sound or the image you really couldn't say.
"Yeah you're right. I'll let you know if we find out anything." You nodded to them and made your way over to the group. Now there were three females surrounding Lucifer. He didn't seem to be speaking to them at all about the case. "Lucifer."
"I did though! Cindy here," he looked down at the woman holding his arm, "saw the party host sneak off with a girl that didn't look a day over sixteen. Can you believe it?! We should find him and have him punished."
"Yeah I'll get right on that. Though, I'm more interested in the dead body that's on the ground over there." You pointed over your shoulder at the cloth covering the body to prove your point.
"Oh you mean that guy. No one saw anything specific. He was on the dance floor with everyone else and suddenly just fell over. At first everyone thought he was just drunk, until the blood started to pool under him."
Cindy tightened her grip on Lucifer's arm. "Aw! Can't you stay Lucifer? I'm sure the cop can handle this without you." She looked over at you and glared. You were almost surprised she didn't hiss at you.
"Yes. Let's talk to that party host next. He might not have been in the room, but maybe he invited someone to the party that isn't here now or knows someone that disliked the victim. It couldn't hurt to talk to him. He should be in the front of the apartment. He was ordered to pack a bag since he can't stay here until we solve this."
"Let's hope he has the information we need at least." You made your way towards the front of the house. The host of the party was standing next to two uniformed officers with a duffle bag sitting on the ground next to him. "Mr. Clark. May I have a word with you?"
Before you could say something or just flash your badge, Lucifer stepped in front of you, blocking the man from looking at you. "We both want to talk to you. Now," he stepped closer and stared into the man's eyes, "tell me what you truly desire?"
"I'll see you at eight at my place! Don't be late!" Before you could say anything else, Lucifer slipped out of the house. You rubbed your forehead, he never listens to you. You turned back to the other and got to work.
Later that night, you walked into Lux with the fleeting thought you should leave. However, you did want to tell Lucifer that he was right. After some more investigating and a few hours of interrogation, the case was finally solved. Mr. Clark had been the murder. He had been fooling around with a minor and the victim had found out. They had blackmailed Mr. Clark until he finally snapped and killed him. He had stabbed him in the middle of the dance floor so no one would notice him approach the victim. He later smashed the glass door to try and make everyone think an outsider did it. A rather open and shut case. You and the others could have solved it without Lucifer's help, but you still felt you owed him a thanks. That wasn't just an excuse you planned to use for while you were here. And you didn't run home after work to get changed into more causal clothes for any other reason then you wanted to be comfortable. God, you hoped you could lie better in front of Lucifer.
You weaved your way through the crowd of people partying until you got to the elevator tucked into the corner of the room out of sight. You knew it led up to Lucifer's flat above the bar from previous trips here when you had to drag the man to work. You pressed the button and stepped into the elevator as the door opened before hitting the button for the penthouse. You leaned against the wall of the elevator and took a deep breath. There was no reason for you to be so nervous. It was just Lucifer. You had known him for months and this wasn't the first time you had been at his place. Though, you guess it was the first time you had gone here for a reason other then work.
You quickly shook your head. You had to get control of yourself or Lucifer would see right through you. You would never hear the end of it if he realized you were nervous to be alone with him in his place.
The elevator pinged as the door opened. You stepped out into Lucifer's flat and glanced around the room. The bar and the living room that encompassed the main area were empty. "Lucifer? Are you here?"
"Ah! Detective!" Lucifer stepped out of the room in the back. "I was starting to think you weren't going to come." His eyes roamed up and down you as a grin came to his lips. "It seems you want and got dressed up for me so I don't mind waiting."
