Yesterday we had our first day of temperatures above freezing since before Christmas. Today it is raining and mush but it is a reminder that spring is just around the corner – and the hope of Easter. Blessings to all of you.

Dear Friends of Latvia and Lithuania,
The people of First United Methodist Church cordially invite you to the 2010 Latvia/Lithuania Mission Initiative meeting in Lancaster, Ohio. Lancaster is an average mid-western town of about 35,000 people located about 40 miles southeast of Columbus, Ohio. Columbus being home of our closest major airport with which we will gladly provide you with transportation to and from in about 40 to 50 minutes. If you are driving to visit us, Lancaster is easily accessible from interstate highway in about 30 minutes.
Nestled in the foothills of southeastern Ohio, Lancaster is mostly a farming community with a small town feel but the conveniences of a major metropolis. Nearby is the beautiful Hocking Hills region with many beautiful examples of God's handiwork in sandstone and thick forests.
If you are a football fan, in about an hour's drive you can visit the campus of Ohio State University and see the home of the champion Ohio State Buckeyes.
Our church of approximately 1500 members is blessed with two facilities. Our main building with roots to Francis Asbury is located at 163 East Wheeling Street close to downtown Lancaster. Near downtown is the Lancaster Glass museum showcasing the wonder of glass making that is an important part of our history. We invite you to worship with us at one of our three worship services on Sunday morning.
The site of the Latvia-Lithuania meetings will be at our Crossroads facility. A family oriented ministry building recently completed in May 2007. Located next to the historic Lancaster Campgrounds, Cross roads has become an important part of our community in being a witness to the message of Jesus Christ. Within Crossroads you will enjoy nicely prepared meals and wireless internet access. Modern audio-visual equipment and two wide-screen TVs will only help you to enjoy what we think will be a fantastic weekend of meetings.
So please join us April 23 and 24 in Lancaster, Ohio for this important event. Registration and hotel information can be found and made online at www.lancasterfumc.org or www.crossroads.events.com.
