I suppose the S. here refers to Simone de Beauvoir, Sartre's lover and a philosopher in her own right. While Sartre figures prominently in the 'existential canon', Beauvoir seems to have been ignored, save for perhaps her feminist theories in her work "The Second Sex". This is an interview with her I found sometime ago which I found interesting. But it is a bit long!
