Are you reliable data recovery service? I have a failed Aspire hard drive
I think the drive from my Acer laptop has a stuck spindle problem. The drive doesn't spin. I hear this siren type noise for few seconds once I power up the drive then the noise stops. I have put the drive in the freezer and then power up but still nothing happens. I need everything that is on the hard drive. Regular turnaround time is fine for me, I'm not in rush, but high quality for the files (if recovered) is a must per say.
The result is acceptable and perfectly adequate for my needs. Hacienda Heights, California USA
Travelstar 5K1000-1000 GB Problem:
This failed hard drive was working in from Acer PC laptop. The drive was working fine last night and when I turned on my system this morning, it couldn't be detected. I have swapped data and power cable and even switched to another system. The hard drive has never been opened since purchased. Everything there is in original form. Request to recover important folders: Project, Portfolio 2016, Texture, Photo Album, Documents, Favorites, Software, Project, Personal Project, Professional Project.
I logged in and went through all the recovered folders on your website. I've browsed them for a while and believe everything I need is there. William from London ON
Seagate Desktop HDD hard disk failure is imminent error message
This drive was in an external kit sitting on top of the PC tower. It fell and now only clicks a little and doesn't sound like platters are spinning.
What an impressive result at such affordable fixed price, exactly as stated on your website. I will recommend your drive repair services to my friends and colleagues. Dave L. Corona CA USA
Most Acer's users usually remove the failed hard drive from the laptop and send it along to data restoration lab, unless the system recovery is required and the new drive-clone must be tested in-lab to make sure the operating system is bootable.
But not all Acer laptops designed with an easy drive-replacement feature. In fact, to remove the drive from most of the modern ACER laptops you have to literally take the whole computer apart to get an access to the drive. The example below gives a demonstration of drive removal manipulations that must be applied to a particular Acer laptop model.
Anyway, that example may give you a fast outlook for drive removal directions for the most typical ACER laptops. A proper type of screwdriver and some sharp tip of a plastic (preferable) tool and few hints are all what you need now for fast and easy drive removing job.
Remove the keyboard, and disconnect the four flexible cables: 1) Keyboard cable 2) Keyboard Light cable, 3) Power-On button cable and 4) Touch-pad cable. NOTE: To disconnect Power-On button cable and Touch-pad cable you need also remove 4 screws.
Now you can start opening the upper cover with a plastic opening tool. After splitting the cover from the bottom part, right under the upper cover you will find the hard drive as shown on the picture below. Lift the drive up about 30 or 45 degrees and pull it out.
I have a question about the USB ports on the Acer Aspire 5517. My wife has ruined both of them and I was wondering how you can replace them, fix them or add new ports to her laptop. Amy help would be appreciated.
I also had both ports break on my Acer Aspire 5517. Is it easier to replace the entire motherboard than try to repair the USB ports? I have been told that it is risky to try to solder replacement ones on the motherboard because it is easy to fry the board. How do I replace the motherboard?
My mother has an Acer Aspire 5517 and I believe the DC jack has gone bad. We have tried a new power cord but it will not charge and it will run with the battery removed. Also, the metal rod inside the jack will move. How do I go about getting to the port to replace it? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!!!
I have an Acer Aspire 5517 and i believe the DC power port has gone bad. The pin inside the port moves around and while i have my curser over the battery indicator it will tell me that the power cord is connected but it is not charging. I was told to check to see if it is the battery, by taking the battery out and then trying to start the computer. This did not work. I have also bought a new power cord. can anyone help with this problem?
i have this cpu and want to upgrade my processor and know i can be done but i cant even get to it,there is not one video on how to open this thing all the way,you only showed what i already know,i need to get the entier caseing off not just down to the keybord, any help would be nice.
Have a Acer Aspire 5517 and it will not connect to my router even though it shows full bars but it will connect to my guest side of my router 70 percent of the time. my roater is a Cisco Linksystem 4200
It is not necessary to replace the hard drive and memory in order to get rid of a virus. All you have to do is reinstall the operating system from scratch. Also, I would recommend using a good antivirus program after that. I use Kaspersky antivirus on my PCs and never have a problem.
i replaced my sons hdd with a hdd from a machine with a damaged screen. 2 issues, 1) mouse pad is not functioning, 2) hdd is from a broken machine and is password protected, son bought his acer from pawn shop so we dont have a copy of windows 7 to reinstall. what are my options
acer aspire 5517, will not boot/post, external vga does not display. replaced motherboard and still no post. have removed all devices, HD, RAM, etc and still will not boot. Any idea what it could be?
i need to replace the usb ports on my acer aspire 5516, if I screw that up, I can put in a new motherboard. I took off all of the screws off of the back, but something is still keeping me from removing the back.
Thank you so much for this helpful images. A year ago I took my acer aspire 5517 apart with your help and seems to me I have to do it again. Makes me very happy to find your website still online. Thanks.
Unlike PCs, laptops have batteries that need to be removed to avoid causing any damage to yourself or the laptop electronics. You might need to take the laptop to a specialist if the battery is built-in and not removable.
The best way to do this is to take the removed drive to a specialist recycler like TechReset. They have specialist equipment that mechanically shreds the drive into fine particles, guaranteeing that all data is erased. Contact us to discuss how our secure data erasure services can help you.

Your Acer laptop may store a lot of your important documents and personal information, especially after you have used it for many years, you may want to sell your computer or give it to someone else. Well, at this time, you need to delete all data on your computer to prevent data leakage. You have two ways to achieve your goal.
In the first situation, if you just need to do a factory reset on your Acer laptop to delete all files and keep the system on this disk. Then you can use the built-in tool Acer Care Center to reset the computer.
In the second case, if you want to completely wipe the hard drive data on the Acer laptop, then it is recommended that you use professional disk wiping software. Being a Windows computer, the Acer only has Disk Management and Diskpart to format or delete the disk, neither of which can completely wipe out your data, and using a data recovery tool might get your information back.
