Dear colleagues,
I write to invite you to a virtual convening, sponsored by the NEH Division of Education Programs, on January 30, 2-4 pm EST, 2025. Please see below for further details:

“Collaborating Beyond the Humanities”

The Education Division of the National Endowment for the Humanities fosters curricular innovation through its grant programs, including the Humanities Connections program, which builds bridges between humanities and nonhumanities disciplines

Please join us on January 30, 2025 from 2-4 pm EST for a virtual convening on “Collaborating Beyond the Humanities,” focusing on the health humanities as an exemplary site of interdisciplinary collaboration. The first hour will feature speakers in the health humanities, including former NEH project directors, exploring the joys, opportunities, and challenges of this work. In the second hour, all participants will be invited to join breakout rooms for further discussion.

Speakers include:

  • Sari Altschuler (associate professor of English and founding director of the Health, Humanities and Society Program, Northeastern University)
  • Scott Muir (director of undergraduate initiatives, National Humanities Alliance)
  • Vincent Punzo (professor of psychology and founder of medical humanities at Earlham College)
  • Elizabeth Dzeng (associate professor of medicine, University of California-San Francisco)

Please register at this link by January 27:

We hope you will be able to join us for a lively discussion in January. Please share widely!

Sincerely, Meredith Goldsmith, PhD
