I have learned that physician-poet John Stone has died. Many of his
works are annotated in the Lit, Arts, & Med database. He was a co-editor
of the anthology, On Doctoring, which has been distributed free every
year to all new medical students (funded by Robert Wood Johnson
Foundation). I knew him and taught his work. He counseled me on my
poetry writing. His poem, Gaudeamus Igitur

l is brilliant -- the med students loved it. He was a fine man and will
be missed.
