Hi guys,

I know you are busy there, I was wondering, maybe you could release
something with minor features to listo ? You spoke about having
closing folders with subfolders and proper string (space allowed) in
folders' name. If by chance you alread implemented that, releasing it
would be cool.

thanks

Yaakov,

you are right, we are working intensively on the next version.
However, it will not be a micro or minor release.
Au contraire, it will be quite a jump.

Large parts of the codebase have been rewritten in the recent weeks to
allow for better testing, extendability and maintainability. Also the
UI will be completely revamped. The next listo version does not use
Java Swing anymore but rather Qt Jambi from Trolltech. This makes the
UI much more sleek and simplifies a lot of things (e.g.
internationalization, which was rather sketchy so far).

So, the changes you requested (collapsable folders, folder names with
spaces) will be there, don't worry.
However, due to the number of changes it is difficult to release a
minor upgrade.

Unfortunately you will have to wait for the full migration to have
taken place.
However, we are happy with the progress we are making there...

Cheers,
Mathias

PS: By the way, we also changed our version control system from SVN to
git. This is why you won't see any more updates to the google code
codebase. With the next release the new codebase will likely move to
github for everyone to tap into.

Hi everyone,
I like listo very much and this whole new listo sounds great and I was
just wondering, do you have some roadmap to show or some other
informations about it (some upcoming blogpost for example)? Or some
release date of alpha/beta/full version (just approximately)?

Thanks a lot, DeWorn.

Hi DeWorn,

sorry, but we will not announce (and therefore somewhat commit) to a
release date.
We are currently deep in the code for the next version and concentrate
on getting the product ready.
Since the next version is a rewrite of large parts of the application
the time between the last release and the next one is exceptionally
long.
Once the next version is out we will return to much short releasy
cycles again.

Cheers,
Mathias
