I have a problem with certain podcasts downloading. I doubt it's a space issue, because others download without a problem. I doubt it's a temporary internet issue, because they don't download later. Would you mind looking into it?

Unfortunately, the missing episodes (11th and 18th July) are no longer available.

Unfortunately, the missing episodes (11th and 18th August) are no longer available.

The majority of podcasts on this feed download OK, it's just they occasionally fail.

When I notice this happen again, I'll try to let you know when the podcasts are still available.

When you get a failure can you save your logs and provide them? I get
no failure.

Thanks. Does your app create the logs, or do I need to use a different app?

they are found in the sdcard under

your sdcard here/Android/data/org.codepimps.listenup/logs

you'll need to add "free" if that's what you're using

Thanks. It hasn't been a problem since I mentioned it here! I'm sure it will be again soon.

I think I've figured out what the problem is.

Your app deletes any podcasts that are no longer on the RSS feed, even if they've been downloaded, but not listened too. They still appear in the list of podcasts, there's just nothing to listen too.

Is this an option I can turn off, or a bug that needs to be fixed?

You mean the actual episode or the file is deleted? Or the actual
file is no longer available to download?

The podcast is downloaded when it appears on the RSS feed.

It stays available while it's on the RSS feed.

When it's no longer on the RSS feed, it is still on my list of podcasts that I haven't listened to, but the icon changes from blue to grey. I assume this means that your app has deleted the podcast.

Sorry, I've just realised that's not correct.

It seems that podcasts that are not on the RSS feed and are older than 14 days are deleted. Podcasts that aren't on the RSS feed, but are younger than 14 days are not deleted.

http://downloads.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/radio4/comedy/rss.xml

There is only one podcast on this RSS feed. It's available on your app, as is the previous podcast (8 days old), but the one before that (15 days old) is on the list on your app, but not available. I'm sure it was available a couple of days ago.

OK I've opened a ticket so I can investigate this behavior in version 3

For completeness, how big is your queue and how many files do you allow to stay on your disk? This setting can be found in the global settings

It looks like it's 10 days, not 14 days. A podcast that was available yesterday (but not on the RSS feed) is no longer available today. It was released 10 days ago.

Number of episodes to cache: 40.

I hope this is what you want to know, I can't find any other relevant options.

I have 16 podcasts in my queue, including many older than the problem ones.

No problem. Do you have all the information you need now? Have you been able to duplicate this?

Yes I do.
I haven't tried. I'm working on listen up 3, this is one of the
scenarios I'll check when I've completed. By complete, I mean at
least when it reaches feature parity with version 2.x and is in a
state where i can check this behavior
