New feeds

I'm having trouble adding new feeds from gpodder.net.  They seem to be marked correctly at the website, but do not appear on the phone.  When I try to manually refresh subscriptions on the phone I get feedback that says "Could not update feeds.  Unable to communicate with gpodder servers.  Old subscriptions are still working fine.  Any advice?
