I would like to publish my middle school's literary magazine on the web,
and have enough experience with html that I think I can handle the
technical end of the project.

My question is: what issues or problems should I anticipate concerning
confidentiality, copyright, parental permission, and personal liability?
Are there any other questions I should be concerned about? I'm also
interested in presenting information about publishing literary magazines
online to other like-minded advisors, so I want to be thorough in my
research.

If you have been through this and/or can offer any suggestions, I would be
grateful!

Thanks,

Catherine Vikstrom

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

U-Wire, BridgePath Launch Online Job Service For Student Journalists and
Recent Graduates

College news service, online recruiting firm join forces to link young
journalists and media companies

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Feb. 3, 1998 -- University Wire, a student-founded news
service covering the nation's college campuses, and BridgePath, an online
recruiting firm for students and recent graduates, today launched the first
Internet-based job service for budding journalists.

The service, which is located on the World Wide Web at
http://www.uwire.com/jobs/, is an attempt to link the nation's young
journalists with media companies interested in hiring them.

"There are thousands of talented student journalists worried about landing
a job in the competitive media marketplace," says Michael Lazerow, 23, who
founded U-Wire as a sophomore at Northwestern University. "This service
puts them one click away from newspapers, television stations, magazines,
Web sites and other media companies."

The service, based on BridgePath's pioneering Internet job service
technology, allows student journalists to enter their personal information
as well as their educational background and work experience. They also can
specify for which types of media jobs they are looking.

The service sends them information from companies that match their
interests and background, and allows media companies to search the database
for a fee to find young journalists that fit their hiring needs.

"We can provide employers with a cost-efficient vehicle to target young
journalists that fit exactly what they need," says Scott Bonds,
BridgePath's co-founder . "If a company tells us it's looking for a senior
from Texas who can speak Spanish and has experience with their campus
paper, we will be able to deliver a list of names, phone numbers, e-mail
addresses and complete resumes. Meanwhile, students can sit at home and let
the jobs find them."
