I have solved my problem by setting up a transparent proxy (which I was
thrying to avoid doing) but it was the only suggestion that worked thanx
to openprojects for the suggestion.

now squid acts well as a accelorator and proxy/cache withoug getting
forwarding loops.
I do have a problem with cache manager though .. it will not connect to
squid .. returns (111) connection refused .. any ideas
