Harry Brown, well spoken and not sponging on the
taxpayers, deserves a place at whichever forum
hosts the Clinton-Gore debates.
To keep out the Libertarian would be yielding to
the might of the two main parties, twins in their
zeal to pass state laws in limiting ballot access
to third-party candidates. At the least Brown's
quickness of mind would raise TV ratings and keep
the public from flicking to "Geraldo" reruns or
more pundit analysis of low voter turnout.
This is an excerpt from a McCarthy column that says nothing but good things
about the LP and the convention, which I assume he attended. I've always
admired Colman, founder of the Washington Peace Center which promotes
nonviolence and nonviolent conflict resolution.
