It installs on your system as a printer. After I create a word or publisher
file, I click File-Print and chose the pdf converter. It opens the document
in Reader. I then Save-As and save it to My Documents as a pdf file.
If you're just looking to create pdf files I don't think you need Acrobat.
But, you can't edit the pdf file. I have to go back to my original document
and edit there, then go throught the "print" process again.

if you're using Word 2007 get the free MS PDF plugin and it could not be
easier to knock out PDFs from Word; if you're not using Word 2007 and PDF
conversion is important, consider upgrading .. it's a lot smoother and
faster than using Acrobat .. assuming you don't need all the stuff Acrobat
does
As between Acro 7 Pro & Standard, you have to know what "casual" means ...
if Pro exclusively has even one feature you need I guess you're not as
casual as you thought you were ....
