I am connected as follows: Unit #1 Network card to HUB
Unit #2 Network card to HUB
ROUTER: 10BaseT port to HUB
On Unit #1 in TCP/IP is the following
IP ADDRESS
IP: 192.168.33.32
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.33.33
Unit #2
IP 192.168.33.31
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.33.33
Using Unit #1, if I telnet into the ROUTER (192.168.33.33) and dial in with
that unit, then Unit #2 cannot get on the internet. I can ping Unit #1 and
ping the ROUTER, but I cannot ping anything else.
Using Unit #2, if I telnet into the ROUTER (192.168.33.33) and dial in with
that unit, then Unit #1 cannot get on the internet. Once again, I can ping
Unit #2 and ping the ROUTER, but I cannot ping anything else.
Do I have to have a static IP in order to be able to have both units online
at the same time?
Thank you.
you need to set up Network Address Translation (Ethernet->NAT->NAT).
In this menu you set Routing=Yes and Profile='your ISP connection name'.
If you have not already done so, you may have to set up
Ethernet->Static Rtes->Default->Gateway to be the IP address of your
ISP's gateway. One of my ISPs refuse to give me their gateway IP
address (for security reasons) and I have successfully used a dummy
IP address instead.
Hope this helps,
