Hi,

I'm using a Pipeline 75 w/ rev 7.3.2 for Internet access. Occasionally
when the second channel comes up the first channel will drop, and all
internet activity will cease. If the connection times out, or if I
force a hangup, the connection will re-dial and everything will work
fine afterwards.

This seems to happen mostly during peak hours, so I'm thinking it is an
ISP issue. I tried changing my config from MP to MPP and also tried
enabling/disabling compression and the problem persists.

Does anyone have a similar problem and/or have any suggestions I could
try?

Thanks,

SPK

I had a similiar problem. I have seen other news postings that suggest this
occurs because the ISP is using an Ascend shelf and it has problems under a
heavy load.

I wrote an application that monitors the router continuously and will issue
a hangup command if the first channel drops right after the second one
connects. It also keeps tabs on your connect time. Check out
www.hutchey.com/shareware/pipeline.zip if interested.
