Max 6000 modems v.34 problems

We have bought Max 6000 last week and opened that though v.90
connections are almost perfect, many of v.34 modems connect at low
speeds (though they have 33600 connections to other devices) - usually
26400, and often became disconnected. It seems that the reason of
disconnects in some retrains issued by Max's modems.

If anyone had the same problems, please share your knowledge how to
solve it.
Also, have any one got any manuals for Rockwell digital modems
used in Max 6000? I mean AT commands, registers information.
If you have the manuals or some hints how to find it, please answer.
