Backup to disk only?

Hello,
I'm too broke to invest in a tape drive, but a 80 gig hard
disk is in my price range.

Can I just let amanda spool the backups to the holding disk,
and tell it to ignore the tape drive part?

I tried this once before, but amreport didn't report much
other than everything failed (IIRC).
