Call for Abstracts for the Atlantic Estuarine Research Society (AERS)

Fall 2014 Meeting!

(Apologies for cross-postings.)

Registration and Abstract Submission is still open!

The upcoming AERS meeting will be held 30 Oct – 1 Nov, 2014

@ the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey,

Seaview Hotel and Golf Club!

The Fall 2014 AERS meeting will focus on “Sandy and Superlative Storms: Resilience, Recovery, Restoration”. As Sandy made landfall October 29 about 15 miles east of the Richard Stockton campus, the timing and venue and theme of this AERS meeting are all very fitting. We particularly encourage abstracts for oral and poster sessions from researchers, students, government, and industry with regard to Sandy and/or that analyze and/or synthesize the assessment, resilience, recovery, and restoration of ecosystems after storms that affect estuarine and coastal areas.

The meeting will feature three keynote speakers:

·   Dr. Michael J. KennishRutgers University, Institute of Marine and Coastal Sciences

·   Dr. Neil GanjuU.S. Geological Survey, Woods Hole Science Center

·   Dr. Stewart FarrellRichard Stockton College, Coastal Research Center

We thank our local hosts Peter Straub (Richard Stockton College), Mike DeLuca (Rutgers University), and Frank Reilly (LMI) for organizing an exiting meeting.

AERS aims to foster broad interest in our environment through scientific and public awareness of current issues. We encourage students, scientists, managers, and educators from DC, DE, MD, NC, NJ, PA, and VA to submit abstracts.
