Respected and Dear All Library Professionals

Please see the below email from AICTE. Please give your valuable suggestions to improve our profession, specially the need of Librarian in NEP-2020 as well in the Hand Book of AICTE that there must be a need of Librarian due to such real need of librarian's work. ( The work should be written and sent to the AICTE about what different kinds of roles are played by the librarian in the current scenario. The status of Librarian is equivalent to Teacher/Professor/Academic Post is also required to highlight. The pay scale, retirement age, promotion is also required to insist. The librarians, who are working in the private sector, in private colleges, the rule of AICTE must be applicable to them also and such kind of benefits should be received to them. NEP-2020 says that there is a need of digitization and digital resources to learn, which is not possible without the librarian, but in NEP-2020, in AICTE they have not mentioned anywhere the need of Librarian for this to fulfill all such need to explore such learning resources to end users. So, these are some points which are in my mind. You can send your suggestions whatever you want to send for upliftment of our library profession as well to give some social status to the Librarians. ( Though I am working in SFI College, I am getting respectable salary and status which should be received to all if such strong rules is being applicable from AICTE )

Thanks

Madam/ Sir,
Greetings from All India Council for Technical Education...!

It is with great pride and gratitude, the council acknowledges all the Education partners for their unflinching commitment and support rendered in all the initiatives of AICTE particularly in the Approval Process 2025-26. It is worth highlighting that the Council is working meticulously on various measures for the quality improvement of Higher Educational Institutes, notably in Technical Education. It is also worthy to record that the Approval Process of 2025-26 had some major and effective changes as advocated in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The Council believes that it is the appropriate time to proceed further in the directions as envisaged in NEP 2020 to bring out Sustainable Development and aims to transform India into a vibrant knowledge society and global knowledge superpower by making higher education more holistic, flexible and multidisciplinary. Given that the primary focus is set for bringing in more equity, quality, affordability and accountability in HEIs, and to bring out a transparent, effective and more efficient system of granting approvals. Accordingly, Council is planned for bringing out few more changes in the Approval Process Handbook 2026-27, in line with NEP 2020.

In this regard, AICTE invites suggestions and valuable measures for improving the overall quality and efficiency of the Approval process from its Education Partners (including State Govt. Authorities & Affiliating Bodies) for bringing out a comprehensive Transparent & Accountable Online Approval Process Policy for the Academic year 2026-27. Accordingly, interested Education Partners are hereby requested to share their valuable suggestions / area of improvement with respect to the Approval Process Policy of 2024-27 to be considered for this year ONLY through online form available https://facilities.aicte-india.org/survey/suggestion_nom.php   on or before 06-10-2025.  AICTE is always committed to facilitate the Education Partners through a consultative and participative process to bring quality in technical education system of the country.
